More Than Medals: Henrik Hafner

Introducing our MORE THAN MEDALS series! Join us on this inspiring journey as we share the heartfelt stories of our fundraisers, revealing the faces behind our cause. Beyond the glimmer of medals, we aim to share their experience with cancer and shine a light on the loved ones they’re fighting for.

Fundraising for our first spring event on May 4th in Baltimore, MD is Henrik Hafner. Henrik is a 6-year-old white belt who trains at Belair BJJ in Maryland, under Professor Sergio Pimentel.

HENRIK IS FIGHTING FOR HIS BROTHER, DOMINICK

Henrik’s older brother Dominick (12 years old) was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2023. He has a tumor on his pineal gland, and unfortunately, surgery isn’t an option (due to the location).

However, after surgery to release fluid in September, 30 rounds of proton therapy, and a 2nd surgery to release fluid. He’s doing much better! The Hafner family awaits an MRI scan in June and it’s safe to say the entire BJJ community is behind them!

You can follow Henrik’s fundraising journey here! We want to thank the Hafner family for sharing their story and joining us to honor their son, Dominick. Good luck Henrick!
