“All of us here at Alex’s would like to sincerely thank Tap Cancer Out for their support and commitment to helping find better treatments and cures for childhood cancers. Because of their incredible efforts, preliminary data has been developed; findings have been published; and more effective treatment options are on the horizon. We are truly honored to have them by our side in the fight against childhood cancer.”
– Liz & Jay Scott, Alex’s Parents/Co-Executive Directors of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
How It All Comes Together
Tap Cancer Out events bring the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community together to not only make an impact in the fight against cancer through the sport that they love, but truly fight for those in the fight of their lives.
We host dozens of tournaments each year – as well as hosting a yearly Global Grappling Day where BJJ practitioners from around the world can take part to create impact. They may look like other BJJ events on the surface, but they’re unlike any other BJJ events in the world.
The funds that these events raise help fuel the lifesaving research that is getting us closer to tapping cancer out, once and for all. We partner with nonprofit beneficiary organizations who are actively working in the cancer space both domestically and internationally.
While most of our gifts support cancer-research grants, we also want our funds to help in ways not often thought of by those who have never experienced cancer face to face. This can include things like covering costs to allow a family to travel to get treatment or funding the build of a facility that houses families during treatment. To dive deeper into our financials, we invite you to read through our Annual Reports.

Don’t just take our word for it. Hear what our competitors have to say.
Juliana T.
“I have been volunteering for Tap Cancer out for 5 years now, and I absolutely love it. It’s a great environment for everyone, regardless of whether or not you train BJJ. I always look forward to the next one, because they get better and better every year.”
John S.
“The best run jiu jitsu tournament I have ever been to – Amazing! The atmosphere and energy were infectious….so positive and uplifting. I applaud you (and I have giant hands)!”
Aaron Hall
“This was my first ever competition, and I am very happy that I chose this to be my first. The atmosphere was great. The fellow competitors were so humble and kind. Really had a great time, not to mention it was for a great cause!”
Tanya B.
“We have been blessed to participate at two of your events. The equipment is top notch and the volunteers are supportive and kind. The focus is not so much on ourselves at this event, but on helping those in the “fight for their lives.”
