West Coast Winter Tour Wraps with Inspiring Stops in San Jose and Seattle

The Tap Cancer Out 2026 West Coast Winter Tour came to a powerful close with two final stops in brand new cities: San Jose, CA and Seattle, WA. As first-time events for TCO, both weekends showcased the strength of the local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu communities and their willingness to step up in the fight against cancer.

San Jose Delivers a Breakout First Year

Our debut event in San Jose on March 8th exceeded expectations in every way.

The community came together to raise an incredible $57,700+, blowing past our first-year goal of $40,000. From the moment registration opened to the final matches of the day, the energy inside the venue was electric, and the impact was undeniable.

Leading the charge was Grayson Jordens from Morgan Hill Jiu Jitsu, who not only earned the title of Top Youth Fundraiser, but also claimed Overall Top Fundraiser honors with an outstanding $5,045 raised.

Morgan Hill Jiu Jitsu didn’t stop there! They also secured the title of Top Fundraising Team, contributing a total of $6,110 toward the event’s success.

San Jose set the tone for what a first-year event can achieve, and we’re already excited to see how this community continues to grow in the years ahead.

Seattle Closes Out the Tour

Two weeks later, on March 14th, we wrapped up the tour in another new city—Seattle, WA.

The Pacific Northwest community brought great energy and support as athletes, academies, and families came together for a meaningful day of competition and fundraising. In its first year, the Seattle event raised an impressive $30,500 in support of Tap Cancer Out’s mission.

Leading the way was Dominic Ristau, who earned both Top Youth Fundraiser and Top Overall Fundraiser honors with $3,070 raised.

The Top Fundraising Team award went to Pinnacle Martial Arts Puyallup | MABJJ, whose group of seven fundraisers combined to raise $3,855.

A Tour to Remember

From San Diego and Los Angeles to San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle, the 2026 West Coast Winter Tour has been nothing short of incredible.

Together, these events raised over $301,000 in support of Tap Cancer Out’s mission—an especially impressive achievement considering four of the five stops were first-year events.

To every competitor, fundraiser, academy, volunteer, and supporter: thank you. You are the reason this tour was such a success, and the reason we’re able to continue funding critical cancer-fighting initiatives.

We can’t wait to be back on the West Coast again in 2027!
