The fall tour continues to chug along as we jump into our second month of events starting October 4th in Austin, Texas. The 2024 Austin BJJ Open was the highest-grossing Austin event to date, leading the way with $139,673. That brings our six-year total in Austin to more than $627,000 raised. That is incredible work by the Austin BJJ community Our Top Overall Fundraiser was Caleb Napolski from Team Rabadi. Caleb raised an impressive $8,018. Our Top Youth Fundraiser was Payton Sanders from Absolteu Self Defense Academy with $3,210 raised. Team Rabadi took home the Top Fundraising Team honors for the fourth time, raising $33,644 and over $100,000 in their lifetime.
Our Austin event also introduced our new More than Models experience. To make our events more joyful, we brought in a glitter tattoo station for our competitors to take part in. We also had a Friendship Bracelet station where anyone can make their own TCO bracelet as well as trade with others! We saw so many people taking part and lots of smiles all around. Look out for a similar experience at your local TCO event!
Next up, we hopped over to the Music City, Nashville, where you all helped us raise $62,000 for our beneficiary partners this year. That brings Nashville’s 6-year total to over $276,000 raised! Jackson Rowland from Profectus Jiu Jitsu was our Top Overall Fundraiser as well as our Top Youth Fundraiser with over $5,000 raised. In his lifetime, he has raised over $11,000 himself. Amazing work Jackson! His team, Profectus Jiu Jitsu, took home the Top Fundraising Team trophy, with $8,145 raised. They were neck and neck with Gracie Barra Tennessee up until the moment we walked on the mats. Great job to both teams!
The next stop would be to Chicago! Here, we raised over $178,000 for this year’s event. The Chicago BJJ community has raised over $978,000 in its 6 years of events. We are approaching the million-dollar mark as we look to next year! Brian Jones (Pica Pau Jiu Jitsu & Grappling) was our Top Fundraiser with an outstanding $20,001 raised – $36,000 raised in two years. This was the second Top Fundraiser win for Brian. He was followed by Top Youth FUndraiser, Ayden Cannon from Wisconsin 360 Jiu-Jitsu. Ayden raised $6,018 this year, making his lifetime total $20,000! Pica Paul Jiu Jitsu & Grappling was our Top Fundraising Team with $32,660 raised ($60,000 in their lifetime). Amazing job!
We have our final event in October coming up on the 26th with a visit to Winter Haven, FL. We’ll report back next month!
