It goes without saying…it’s a HUGE HONOR FOR US to announce that five-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Bernardo Faria has officially joined the Tap Cancer Out Advisory Board.
For decades, Bernardo has been one of the most respected figures in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—not only for his accomplishments on the mats, but also for his role in shaping the way our sport is taught, shared, and grown worldwide. Bernardo is not only a five-time World Champion, but also one of the most beloved figures in our sport. His joy is contagious, his kindness unmatched, and his reputation as one of the “nicest guys in jiu-jitsu” is as firmly cemented as his place in BJJ history.
That’s why we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Bernardo Faria has joined Tap Cancer Out as the first member of our new Advisory Board.
More Than a Champion
Bernardo’s accomplishments on the mats speak for themselves. He’s a five-time IBJJF World Champion, an IBJJF Hall of Famer, and a competitor who defined an era. But his impact goes far beyond medals.
Through BJJ Fanatics and BJJSuperDeals.com, Bernardo has revolutionized how instruction is shared, making world-class jiu-jitsu knowledge available to students everywhere. His ability to see both the heart of our art and the business side of the sport makes him one of the most successful entrepreneurs in jiu-jitsu today.
He also continues to build community at the Bernardo Faria BJJ Academy in Bedford, Massachusetts, where his signature warmth and generosity set the tone for everyone who steps on the mats.
A Friend to Tap Cancer Out
While he’s new to our Advisory Board, Bernardo isn’t new to our mission. He’s already supported Tap Cancer Out through appearances at Tap Cancer Out BJJ Opens, joining us as an instructor at our TCOasis retreat, hosting a meet-and-greet at our Jiu-Jitsu CON booth, and through special seminars that helped us raise vital funds in the fight against cancer. He has also helped develop fundraising collaborations through both BJJFanatics.com and BJJSuperDeals.com that have raised thousands of dollars for TCO and our beneficiary organizations.
